I think that music videos shouldn’t be censored because when you cut out the swear words you get rid of the emotions that the artist is feeling. However if they weren’t censored then kids at the age of twelve would be listening to it and learning all the swear words. The censorship law is effective because it doesn’t let the kids listen to it. This is effective because it doesn’t affect the listeners and offend the listeners that are watching the music channel. This is effective because they can get more viewers to tune it and listen to the music that they promote.

The artist should be able to express himself no matter if swears because it lets his fans know how he really feels. But due to the censorship law he isn't allowed to because it will offend viewers such as parents. This is effective because they get the artist on different music channels. This therefore means that the artist is getting more well know and he can get a different target audience. However if he gets the wrong target audience like childeren they would want to know why they have censored that word. "We live in a society where we are taught to hide our true feelings and emotions." I think that this quote is true because we hide swear words from childeren when in the future they will learn these words.

The fans believe that the lyrics are the refection of the artist beleif, so censoring the lyrics they will get confused and they wont know how they really feel. Also if you censor the lyrics of the artist then you are promoting that sort of genre to the wrong target audience. For example when Eminem swears in his songs. This could up the rise in sales and the populairity of the song and the artist. Because the target audience could really like the song and therefore they would want to listen to the album because they want to see what the artist is talking about in the album. "I do not think that musicians should be censored." I agree this because i thnk that artist should be able to express themselves freely.

The record label believe that censoring the lyrics take away the meaning and the power of that it has to the audience. They also believe that it is down to what the artist because they can't control how he feels or express himself. For example when Eminem raps about his up bringing, He always gets emotional and swears. This could affect there sales becuase the audience could be too young. However because there to young it shouldn't appeal to them. However the kids could relate to Eminem and what he says.

The British Music Television Channels believe that swear words should be censored becuase they don't want to offend the viewers watching. However some music channels wouldn't censor the swear words because thats the soft of target audience that they will appeal to. For example MTV has one the biggest repretations in the music industry so they don't want to offend there  viewers because they don't want to affect there repretation becuase that could affect there viewing numbers. MTV censored the word "Die" in Eminems song The way i am because they thought he was sending a message of death. This is unfair to the fans because they will won't understand what Eminem is conveying to them. However it protects them from danger because they will not want to go to the extremes of killing themselves.

The Bristish radio stations wouldn't play music with swear words without censoring it because it might offend the listeners. They don't want to offend there listeners because they don't know how old they are and if they are young the parents won't listen to them. For example when Choice fm play music they have a target audience they try and appeal to but they know that some older people and some younger would listen to there radio station because they like the music that they play.

Some parents would argue that music should't be censored because the artist inspire a lot of people so they shouldn't be censored. Also they think that if other parents are scared that there kids are going to swear that they are bad parents. However other parents would argue that music should be censored because the artist swear to much and the visuals that they see are too flambboient. For example when Snoop Dogg is on MTV. Parents know that Snoop Dogg has women in bikkin's in most of his videos. For example when he did the song with Pharelle Williams- Beautiful there were loads of women in bikkins showing off there bodies to the camera which some parents wouldn't agree with so it had to be shown at a certain time and only some channels showed it.

In conclusion i think that that music shouldn't be cennsored because it will confuse the origional target audience. Also they shouldn't censor music because it's just telling children that they can listen to the wrong sort of music. For example when kids watch MTV and they here artist singing then it goes scilent. This could confuse the audience and therefore they want to find out what the artist said. A way to resolve this is not play the song at all. This is also effective because then all the artist in the music industry have to think about what they say. This makes the music industry better as well because there would be less swearing.
