One of the camera shots i will use in my music video will be a close up. This will be used to show the emotions of the artist. This will also be effective because it will build a strong relationship with the audience. Also the close up shot will show the different facial expressions of the artist when he is away from home compared to when he is going home. This is also effective because it goes with Goodwins theory. This will mean that the audience wouldn't get confused and the music video will be a narrative based video. This will be effective for my music video because the close ups will allow the audience to see how focused the artist is.
Another camera shot i will use will be a mid shot. This is effective because it lets the audience see the body language of the artist.. This is also effective because the audience can see the contrast in body language when he is away from home compared to when he is going home. Also the audience get to see the different cloths that the artist wears when he is away from home compared to what he wears away from his work.
Also another camera shot i will use in my music video will be an establishing shot. This will be to show the audience the locations. This is effective because it shows the audience where the video is set. This is also effective becuase they can see the difference in locations. By having two different locations we can see the difference in emotions when the artist is away from home compared to when the artist is going home.
I will also have a panning shot in my music video. The panning shot will be used to show the artist emotions when he playing the piano when he is in the studio. This will be effective because it will let the audience build a relationship with the audience. Also having a panning shot will make my music video more dramatic because of how slow the shot will be. This is effective for my audience becuase there will be a feeling of tension.

Costume
Because i will only have one character in my music video.
In one of my locations i will have the character wear a black suit. This will be effective because it will show how prefesional he is away from home and also when he is proforming. This will also build a good relationship between the artist and the audience because they will see the prefesionalism of the artist. This will show that the artist is successful and serious about what he does. This is effective because the audience will interpreate that he is a prefesional at what he does because of the suit.

In the location of the park i will have the artist wear something simulair to the image below. This is because it will show how he dresses when he is not preforming. This is effective because it will build a strong relationship with the audience and this will make the audience feel sorry and have a neutral feeling for the artist. Also the costume will show the audience that he is the same as everyone else when he is not doing music and it will also show the contrast of how he preforms to how he acts off stage. Also the costume of the artist is also effective because it allows the artist to express himself through his clothing.

Location and iconography
The locations that I would use in my music video would be a park and a room with a piano. This is because it can relate to the lyrics and the title of the song “Coming home”. This would be effective for my music video because it can build a strong relationship with the audience. Because they will see that the character is walking home, this would build a strong relationship with the audience because they can see that he is happy when he is going home. The location of the studio will be effective because it is something that the character does all the time and he is always away from home so it will show how he feels away from home. The locations are effective and they build a strong relationship because they will see the contrast of how the artist feels away from and when he does come home. This is effective because the audience can build a relationship with the artist and also feel sorry and happy for him because they see what he does go through when he is away from home. The location reflects to the lyrics because the audience will see that he is walking home. This is effective because it relates to the title of the song “coming home”. I know that my audience will like a mixture of the style of the music. The location is conventional to my music video because it will build a strong relationship with the artist because of the narrative of the music video. The iconography I will use in my music video will be a piano and some paper that has a music book on it. This will be effective because it will show the audience that he is an artist and it will also go with the beat of the song because the beat is played by a piano so it will have relevance in the music video.

Audiences
A: Top management, bankers, lawyers, doctors and other professionals
B: Middle management, teachers, many 'creatives' eg graphic designers etc
C1: Office supervisors, junior managers, nurses, specialist clerical staff etc
C2: Skilled workers, tradespersons (white collar)
D: Semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers (blue collar)
E: Unemployed, students, pensioners, casual worker.
This is effective for the different record labels because they can target different people in the different categories effectively. For example a record label such as Sony music because they can target of certain people and make music that they would listen to. For example if they targeted category E, they would see what time they work or what time they are at school and they would play music that they like before and after school on radio and Tv.
For example MTV aim there show at people in the E, D and C2 class because they are more likely to listen to the music that they play. This is effective because they can play different at the different times that the classes are watching Tv. This is also effective because they will get more views when they show it at the right time becuase the class will be watching. Whereas classic tv aim there Tv show at people in the class A,B because they prefer music like that.

Parent Companies And The Music Industry
The music industry is structured by a 4 major companies auch as Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Group, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group. These companies also own lots of smaller sub-labels, for example Columbia records which is owned by sony and they have signed Ted Wallerstein, BMG which is also owned by sony. Also there are independent labels that are not owned by any of the 4 record labels for example MMG (Mayback Music), Young Money and Cash Money are all independent record labels.
Sony own the majority of the music industry. This is benificial for them because they will make more profit and they will become more know this will also mean that artist will want to come to their record label. This is effective because the Sony company will gain profit and also they keep a good reprtation in the industry.
Sub-labels are controlled by a major compaines for example Columbia is a sub-label company owned by Sony. They may have more financial input put into the label because they are funded by a major label. Therefor they have more money to promote their artists and bigger budgets to launch new artists. Independent companies may find it harder to promote an artist because the sub-labels have the financial backing of the majors.
They may have less money to spend on launching an artist. The artists may be less known with only a few making it big in the popular music chart, such as Rick Ross. Because he owns his own music label which is called MMG (Mayback Music) and isn't know in the music charts. The artists tend to be seen as less manufactured and focus more on music than image. The fans respect the independent labels because they are seen to be more musically credible than artists signed to major labels.

Essay
I think that music videos shouldn’t be censored because when you cut out the swear words you get rid of the emotions that the artist is feeling. However if they weren’t censored then kids at the age of twelve would be listening to it and learning all the swear words. The censorship law is effective because it doesn’t let the kids listen to it. This is effective because it doesn’t affect the listeners and offend the listeners that are watching the music channel. This is effective because they can get more viewers to tune it and listen to the music that they promote.
The artist should be able to express himself no matter if swears because it lets his fans know how he really feels. But due to the censorship law he isn't allowed to because it will offend viewers such as parents. This is effective because they get the artist on different music channels. This therefore means that the artist is getting more well know and he can get a different target audience. However if he gets the wrong target audience like childeren they would want to know why they have censored that word. "We live in a society where we are taught to hide our true feelings and emotions." I think that this quote is true because we hide swear words from childeren when in the future they will learn these words.
The fans believe that the lyrics are the refection of the artist beleif, so censoring the lyrics they will get confused and they wont know how they really feel. Also if you censor the lyrics of the artist then you are promoting that sort of genre to the wrong target audience. For example when Eminem swears in his songs. This could up the rise in sales and the populairity of the song and the artist. Because the target audience could really like the song and therefore they would want to listen to the album because they want to see what the artist is talking about in the album. "I do not think that musicians should be censored." I agree this because i thnk that artist should be able to express themselves freely.
The record label believe that censoring the lyrics take away the meaning and the power of that it has to the audience. They also believe that it is down to what the artist because they can't control how he feels or express himself. For example when Eminem raps about his up bringing, He always gets emotional and swears. This could affect there sales becuase the audience could be too young. However because there to young it shouldn't appeal to them. However the kids could relate to Eminem and what he says.
The British Music Television Channels believe that swear words should be censored becuase they don't want to offend the viewers watching. However some music channels wouldn't censor the swear words because thats the soft of target audience that they will appeal to. For example MTV has one the biggest repretations in the music industry so they don't want to offend there viewers because they don't want to affect there repretation becuase that could affect there viewing numbers. MTV censored the word "Die" in Eminems song The way i am because they thought he was sending a message of death. This is unfair to the fans because they will won't understand what Eminem is conveying to them. However it protects them from danger because they will not want to go to the extremes of killing themselves.
The Bristish radio stations wouldn't play music with swear words without censoring it because it might offend the listeners. They don't want to offend there listeners because they don't know how old they are and if they are young the parents won't listen to them. For example when Choice fm play music they have a target audience they try and appeal to but they know that some older people and some younger would listen to there radio station because they like the music that they play.
Some parents would argue that music should't be censored because the artist inspire a lot of people so they shouldn't be censored. Also they think that if other parents are scared that there kids are going to swear that they are bad parents. However other parents would argue that music should be censored because the artist swear to much and the visuals that they see are too flambboient. For example when Snoop Dogg is on MTV. Parents know that Snoop Dogg has women in bikkin's in most of his videos. For example when he did the song with Pharelle Williams- Beautiful there were loads of women in bikkins showing off there bodies to the camera which some parents wouldn't agree with so it had to be shown at a certain time and only some channels showed it.
In conclusion i think that that music shouldn't be cennsored because it will confuse the origional target audience. Also they shouldn't censor music because it's just telling children that they can listen to the wrong sort of music. For example when kids watch MTV and they here artist singing then it goes scilent. This could confuse the audience and therefore they want to find out what the artist said. A way to resolve this is not play the song at all. This is also effective because then all the artist in the music industry have to think about what they say. This makes the music industry better as well because there would be less swearing.
