Audiences

A: Top management, bankers, lawyers, doctors and other professionals
B: Middle management, teachers, many 'creatives' eg graphic designers etc
C1: Office supervisors, junior managers, nurses, specialist clerical staff etc
C2: Skilled workers, tradespersons (white collar)
D: Semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers (blue collar)
E: Unemployed, students, pensioners, casual worker.

This is effective for the different record labels because they can target different people in the different categories effectively. For example a record label such as Sony music because they can target of certain people and make music that they would listen to. For example if they targeted category E, they would see what time they work or what time they are at school and they would play music that they like before and after school on radio and Tv.

For example MTV aim there show at people in the E, D and C2 class because they are more likely to listen to the music that they play. This is effective because they can play different at the different times that the classes are watching Tv. This is also effective because they will get more views when they show it at the right time becuase the class will be watching. Whereas classic tv aim there Tv show at people in the class A,B because they prefer music like that.

You have identified the different audience categories but you have not explained which music channels the audience would listen to and why? To achieve a M2 you need to relate to more detailed examples and you need to explain why a different audience would watch a different tv channel
